The bridge over the river has a total length of 1,495 feet, comprising 24 spans of 60 feet, two of 14 feet 6 inches and two 13 feet. The roadway, having a clear width of 12 feet, is carried on the 60 feet spans between the combined trusses, the lower chords and tension rods being of wrought iron; the lower members of New Zealand timbers; the piers ???.
