Lieutenant General Sir Frederick Walter Kitchener (1858 - 1912) was Governor and C ommander in Chief Bermuda from 1908 - 1909. Previous to this he had served a varied army career taking part in the Afghan War of 1878 - 1880, the Dongola Expedition of 1896, the Khartoum Campaign of 1898 (I/c Kordofan Field Force) and the South African War in 1899 - 1900.
