The Kowloon Canton railway terminus, clock-tower and Peninsula Hotel may be seen in the centre and a large ship with three funnels at anchor in the port to the left. Signal Hill may be seen to the right of the clock-tower. The Peninsula Hotel behind the clock-tower was opened in 1928.

It has been suggested that the date of this photograph is c. 1926, based on the observation that the western wing of the Peninsula Hotel appears to still be under construction (source: Klaus Liphard, contributor to Gwulo: Old Hong Kong).
