The Bund, British Concession, Shanghai [c 1900], 1900
Scope and Contents
281 x 192 mm. View looking across the River Whangpoo towards the Bund and the British Concession on the farther bank. The British section of Shanghai was in the centre or west district to the north of the city. It was bounded on the south by the French Concession and on the north by the Soochow Creek, beyond which was the American Concession. The section of the Bund seen here stretches from the Customs House (the twin-gabled building with central clocktower at the extreme left of the print) northwards nearly to the Public Gardens.
