The building second from the left is the Hong Kong Hotel (its three top stories added at some time in the 1890s). To the right, on the other side of Peddar Street are the former premises of Jardine, Matheson & Co. (demolished in 1907). The next building but one houses the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship Co., with the offices of Lane, Crawford & Co. next to it. The following building is unidentified and then comes the Marine Club and Charmichael and Co. Further along the waterfront is the Victoria Hotel and at the extreme right the Central Market.
