A Kalabit smithy, 1900
Scope and Contents
148 x 104 mm. Showing four men metalworking in the open air. The figure on the left is seated on a raised platform to work the bellows which are in the form of two cylinders through which pistons are driven, the air being expelled through two narrow pipes at the bottom. A second figure holds the metal in the flame, while the remaining two men work the metal with stone hammers.
