Depot picnic, Darjeeling, 1876, 1876
Scope and Contents
283 x 216 mm. Group portrait of the picnic participants, with a small military band standing in the background. No identifications are given, although J.G. Lindsay can be seen seated at the right hand end of the front row. The figures are grouped in front of some sort of female effigy. Another, similar figure, stands at the far end of the fields near some unidentified ruins. Presumably these are props in some kind of game.
