His tomb stands in the centre of a somewhat confusing complex of shrines and temples in the village named after him just south of Delhi (for a plan of the buildings, see H.C. Fanshawe, 'Delhi past and present' (London, 1902), p.236 'The tomb of Nizam-uddin...is about 30 feet square, with five arched openings on each side, supported by 20 marble pillars. A six feet wide verandah surrounds the room which contains the grave...The arched openings of the verandahs are protected by deep sandstone ledges or weathering, and are covered with pardahs of red cloth. The tomb is surmounted by a white marble dome ornamented with vertical stripes of black marble, and a copper gilt pinnacle; on the four corners of the tomb there are small marble dome pavilions with pinnacles of the same materials. Between these pavilions the roof is protected by a parapet wall about 20 inches high', Stephen Carr, 'The archaeology and monumental remains of Delhi' (Ludhiana, 1876). The captioner of this print has evidently confused the building with the Chi Khambe which contains the grave of Mirza Aziz Kuraltash.
