Scope and Contents

287x203mm. Showing the single storey premises of Cooke &Kelvey, jewellers, at 20 Old Court House Street next to Bathgate & Co., with two motor cars parked in the roadway in front of the building. The shop is of plain stone with an ironwork porch running from the entrance to the roadway. The horizontal roofline is broken by a clock above the main entrance set to the right of centre. The date of construction is unknown, but the building was already standing when the firm moved into it on their establishment in 1858, and was still in occupation by them in 1928. Photographer unknown, probably Johnston and Hoffman.
