Scope and Contents

201x144. General view of the Imperial Secretariat Buildings, situated to the W. of Government House at the junction of Council House Street and Hastings Street. Standing on the site of the old Spence's Hotel and Loudon Building, the Secretariat and Treasury, similar in style to the Bengal Secretariat, were erected in 1889-91, (Massey p.70).
