View of Government House, north aspect, 1916
Scope and Contents
164x102mm. View looking down onto the N. facade of Government House, possibly taken from the Government House Out-Office. Particularly notable in this later view are the classical urns placed at regular intervals along the roof parapet by Lord Curzon to add interest to the flat roof line. Also added by Curzon and visible in this view are the coats of arms on the two northern wings and in the tympanum of the pediment over the main entrance (see Curzon i, p.86, Massey p.2.)
