Anne Stevenson supplemented her income as a poet by writing articles, essays and reviews for various publications, ranging from academic journals to poetry magazines and national newspapers. Stevenson was also invited by literary festivals, universities, and other cultural/education-based organisations to deliver lectures, talks, classes and readings; sometimes coinciding with the release of one of her poetry collections.

This series contains drafts and outlines for these essays, lectures and other activities listed above, and they have been split into three sub-series: a section holding material connected to essays, articles and notes published or submitted to outlets; a section relating to lectures, readings and talks given by Stevenson; and a final section containing drafts of reviews written by her on the works of other poets or publications connected to poetry.
