Biographical / Historical
The club was founded in November 1902, and was affiliated to the Royal Anthropological Institute. Membership was initially restricted to members of the University, but by November 1935 had been extended to members of the women's colleges. Other persons could be elected to membership and members could bring guests to meetings. In 1935, the object of the club was stated as 'to extend throughout the University interest in all branches of Anthropology, and to promote the discussion of Anthropological and kindred problems'.
