Mata’afa’s looting party day after native flight, 1899
Scope and Contents
200 x 140 mm. A view showing a group of Samoans armed with swords, rifles and pieces of wood. Whether this is a genuine group of looters or an arranged photograph is not known: if they are Mata’ afan men it seems strange that they have been allowed to retain their arms and weapons.
