Scope and Contents
193 x 128mm. General view of the exhibition buildings in Kingston, photographed from the open space in front. The buildings consist of a long two storey range with towers at either end and a central dome flanked by towers on each side of the main entrance. The exhibition was opened by the Prince of Wales, then commanding H.M.S. Thrush on the North America and West Indies Station, on 27 January 1891. Nearly 303,000 persons were recorded as having visited the exhibition before it closed on 2 May 1891.
