Sensation Rock and Corner, Colombo-Kandy Line, 1867
Scope and Contents
211 x 265 mm. View looking along the line at Sensation Rock, with a locomotive just rounding the bend. At the left is a sheer drop, at the right a vertical cliff face. Beyond the Deckande Bank the line curves up and round the ‘Conical Hill’ on the Kadugannawa Incline near the top of which, at a height of 1300 feet, is Sensation Rock, so named from the sensation it induces that the train is about to plunge over the edge.
