Original Containers Summary Files, c 1990s-c 2010s

 Series
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.10275/7/1

Scope and Contents

The contents of the Roger Law Archive originally arrived at Cambridge University Library in an assortment of plastic and cardboard boxes, box files, portfolios and large cardboard envelopes, wrapped packages and rolls, and folders and ring-bound files. The plastic boxes, portfolios and some of these other containers had colour-coded stickers attached to them or came in colour-specific folders/ring-bound files to denote the following: red for items relating to Roger Law's personal and professional lives, prior to his work with Peter Fluck, as Luck & Flaw, and Spitting Image; green for items connected to Luck & Flaw's professional output; and blue for material relating to the activities of Spitting Image Productions Limited, along with Spittoon Limited and Roger Law (post-Spitting Image) items.

The files within this series provide a summary of the items found in the original designated containers for the three categories, noted above. They essentially contain lists, produced by Roger Law and Deirdre Amsden, which hold the names of items or the titles of artwork and photographic images found in each box, portfolio or other container. These items or titles of artwork and photographic images are accompanied by their original reference numbers. These reference numbers can be used to search the Archive Bible, which is the previous catalogue for this collection; see entry MS Add.10275/7/5 and its child records.
