Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.10275/5/7/2/1/3

Scope and Contents

A file containing Sotheby's sale documentation received by the director of Spitting Image Productions Limited, Richard Bennett, and Roger Law, prior to and following the first sale of Spitting Image puppets, conducted on the internet by Sotheby's and Amazon.com, between 7 and 20 July 2000. The following documents are present: internet receipt and contract; confirmation of sale and reserve; sale results; printouts of spreadsheets detailing the lots of the auction and if the successful bidder has paid; remittance advices; and settlement statements and invoices.

There is also a small amount of correspondence, which mainly cover the following two topics: the failure of some successful bidders to pay for the lots they won; and activities surrounding the lots that did not sell during the auction.
