'Samoan or Navigator Islands by the U.S.Ex.Ex. Charles Wilkes Esq. Commander 1839', 698 x 442 mm, 'corrected Aug. 1871 at the Hydrographic Office, Washington D.C. R.H. Wyman Capt. U.S.N. Hydrographer to the Bureau of Navigators'. Above the title is the emblem of the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Equipment. The map is mounted in a plastic sleeve, and has been stamped 'U.S. Navy, Bourse Building, Philadelphia, PA'.
