Letters, 1897 - 1898
Scope and Contents
A series of letters relating to the armed attempt to regain his throne by Mwanga II, Kabaka of Buganda, who had been deposed by the British in 1897. They also discuss the mutiny of Sudanese troops at Eldama Ravine and Fort Lubwa. Correspondents include George Wilson, Acting Commissioner of Uganda and Major James Macdonald who led the British forces which defeated Mwanga.
