Biographical / Historical

Adelaide Mary Cossey (1855-1936), Sister Adelaide, became a friend of Mary Ward during the latter's training days at Tottenham Hospital. They corresponded and spent holidays together. In 1930 Mary returned to England to nurse Adelaide, who died on 17 May 1936, aged 82. Sister Adelaide was connected to the Voysey family through the marriage of one of her sisters. Her nephew was the Revd T. Harold Voysey (d. 1959), Baptist Minister at Wimbledon, then Potter's Bar. The papers also feature Winifred Cossey, who died on 7 August 1919, and her brother, T.H. Voysey.
