Biographical / Historical
Sir Andrew Caldecott joined the Malayan civil service in 1907. In 1934, he served as officer administering the government of the Straits Settlements and high commissioner for the Malay states. Caldecott later served as governor of Hong King (1935-37) and governor of Ceylon (1937-44).
