Meetings in Malaya, 1951-01-11 - 1952-02-13
Scope and Contents
Minutes and correspondence related to meetings at Kuala Lumpur to discuss the Malayan Emergency. The first took place on 11 Jan. 1951 between the United Association of Malayan Planters, the All Malaya Chinese Mining Association, the Federated Malay States Chamber of Mines, the Federated Malay States Chamber of Commerce, the British Association of Straits Merchants and the Malayan High Commissioner, Sir Henry Gurney. The second meeting occurred on 3 Dec. 1951 between the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Oliver Lyttelton, and the United Association of Malayan Planters, the Incorporated Society of Planters and other commercial organisations. The file also holds a memorial on the Chinese aspect of the Malayan Emergency submitted to Hugh Fraser, M.P., at Kuala Lumpur, 8 Dec. 1951.
