The New York Times Book Review Models, 1995
Scope and Contents
A box containing six oyster shells, which have a modelled substance glued inside them in the shape of a baby, topped off by a pearlised bead. The oyster shells are accompanied by ten plastic pieces of imitation ice. These items were created by the Spitting Image Workshop, as part of a commission from The New York Times Company to produce artwork for the 3 December 1995 issue of the The New York Times Book Review supplement. A number of photographic illustrations involving the Mr. Punch character, dressed as a Christmas elf, were produced and these shell models and 'ice' were part of an illustration for the cooking section of the supplement (SI/1719).
