Scope and Contents
A portfolio containing caricature drawings, mostly on detail paper, produced by the Spitting Image Workshop, as part of their work for the British satirical television series, Spitting Image. The contents of this portfolio have been subdivided into seven bundles, focused on mainly political figures from the following countries: Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. The seventh bundle is labelled as 'World Politics.'
A number of these drawings will also have been produced in connection to the Spitting Image international franchises, which were created in various countries from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. A significant amount of caricatures are present for Portuguese footballers and politicians, which relate to the programme, Contra-informação.
Most drawings are labelled with their original 'SI' reference number.
