Scope and Contents

A visifile containing a bundle of various pen and ink drawings produced for the first series of Spitting Image, by Tim Watts. These drawing were a commentary on the Punch magazine losing its bite. The drawings depict contributors from the magazine offering their services in mock Yellow Pages phone directory advertisements, and include: Melvyn Bragg's stone-cladding; Alan Coren's corn supply; Hunter Davies' car hire; Clement Freud's catering company; Hughie Green's piano tuning; Simon Hoggart's dress hire; Robert Morley's waste disposal; Dilys Powell's secretarial services; and Mr. Punch's boring company (SI/653-661). The finished versions appeared in episodes of the first series without dialogue.
