Printed political papers of H.C.E. Childers, 1882 - 1885
Scope and Contents
This section consists in the main of Foreign Office Section Prints (i.e. Prints prepared in, and intended for internal circulation in the Foreign Office); Prints of telegrams received at the Foreign Office and circulated daily to all members of the Cabinet; Papers prepared in the Foreign Office for submission to the cabinet and circulated to some or all of the members of the cabinet; a few Command Papers printed by the order of the House of Commons; and a few Prints of War Office telegrams from Egypt and the Soudan. It would appear that the majority of the papers in the collection were circulated to Childers when he was at the Exchequer or the War Office; a few relate to his period at the Home Office.
