Greenwich Magnetical and Meteorological Observations, 1840 - 1933

 Series
Reference Code: GBR/0180/RGO 155

Scope and Contents

Printed volumes of magnetical and meteorological observations and results made at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Volumes from 1926 onwards also include observations taken at the Abinger Magnetic Station. The volumes here cover the years 1840-1846, 1848-1860, 1864-1880, 1884-1905, and 1913-1932, with a number of gaps in the sequence.

From 1840-1847 the results of the magnetical and meteorological observations were published as separate volumes. From 1848-1874 they were published as part of 'Greenwich Observations'.

Most volumes contain a number of successive publications/years bound together. Volumes containing observations from 1848 onwards are numbered 'T42 G54' on the spine.

Titles are taken from the spines of each volume, with full titles given in the scope and contents.
