Scope and Contents
Contains prints approximately 50 x 80 mm to 290 x 249 mm. Captions are handwritten by the Prince of Wales. This records the rest of visit to India of the Prince of Wales (later King George V) and Princess Mary. Subjects include: visits to Aden, Cairo, and Corfu on the return journey to the U.K., with arrival in London on May 8, 1906. Appended are photographs taken during the visit by the Prince and Princess of Wales to Madrid for the wedding of King Alfonso XIII and Queen Ena (May 31, 1906) and to Norway for the Coronation of Haakon VII (June 22, 1906). Most of the photographs show events of the Royal Tour, but there are also batches of architectural and other photographs of places visited. For example, QM 7/84-QM 7/95 (Quetta and area, chiefly by F. Bremner) and QM 7/153-QM 7/192 (Egyptian antiquities). Photographers unknown except where indicated on the prints.
