Scope and Contents

Half-plate (landscape format). St. John New Brunswick. R.C. Cathedral on Waterloo Street - Trinity Church (Ch. of Eng.) - C.P.R. Cantilever Bridge - Navy Island - Harbour - weirs for catching Gaspereau salmon and shad - The old Fort - Warners sawmill - West Head - Suspension Bridge. N.B. All the ironwork of the suspension bridge is painted white - the tide in the photographs is running down. N.B. The weirs or screens for catching gaspereau , salmon and shad : these are visited twice every 24 hours. When the tide is moving up strong it will force a boat from Split Rock over on top of the rock called West Head. (Fisher).
