General
GD. A note on the accompanying painting reads: A private of the Royal Canadian Regiment, painted at the Wellington Barracks, Halifax for colouring any of the R.C.R. views. Note especially the hot fierce colour of the leather parts such as sling, boots, belt, etc. which, Colonel Wadmore tells me, is a special feature of the uniform of the R.C.R.
