Scope and Contents

A file containing two manuscript letters: one from British illustrator, Julian Allen, and the other from his partner, Joan Steiner; sent together from the United States during the Thanksgiving season. Allen's letter is addressed to both Roger Law and Deirdre Amsden, and also Peter Fluck and his wife Ann, and includes some of the following topics: plans for Christmas; a story about individuals taking money from an intelligence agency; Muhammad Ali's The Rumble in the Jungle boxing fight; Allen's progress on a speed reading course; illustrations undertaken by Allen for the publication, Oui; and his opinion on the current and previous American presidents. Steiner's letter is addressed to Law and Amsden, and includes some of the following topics: Thanksgiving and the increased cost of food; Allen's speed reading course; comments on the lack of proper news in The New York Times and other outlets; the movie, Earthquake; and plans for Allen and Steiner to see Law and Amsden at Christmas.
