Scope and Contents
1. f. 1. 'Coronatio Edwardi Secundi post Conquestum.' At end is written, 'Ex libro quodam veteri Domini Henrici Sydnei.'
2. f. 2. 'De honore et conductu qui fieri solet Regi Scotorum, quotiens venerit in Angliam ad mandatum Regis Angliae.'
3. f. 2. • De discordia inter Wilhelmum, regem Scotorum, et H. [Hugh Pudsey], Dunelmensem episcopum.'
4. f. 2. 'De coronatione regis Ricardi primi.' The account here given relates to Richard's second coronation, at Winchester, in 1194.
5. ff. 3, 4. Tractatus breves de coronatione Regis et Reginae; videlicet, 'Qualiter Rex debet coronari:' 'Ordo constituendi novum Regem:' et ' Consecratio Regine.'
6. f. 4 b. 'The mannor, forme, and usage of Gilbert Strogell, Marshall of Yngland, in what manner he occupied and used the sayd rome and office in all his tyme, and howe he was admitted, held, taken, and regarded in executing of his office at the coronation of Kinge Henry the seconde,' etc. Also of his inferior officers, their profits, advantages, etc.
7. f. 6. 'A new ordinance prepared by the Kinge or soverayne lorde for the offyce and due attendance of the Knight Marshall.'
8. f. 6. 'The mannor and custome of the usages of Thomas Brothertonne, what he had and used in the office of the Marshalsey.' Thomas Plantagenet, surnamed De Brotherton, Earl of Norfolk, fifth son of Edw. I., was created Earl Marshal 10 Feb. 1315.
9. f. 7 b. The oath of the council in the Star-Chamber, and a list of the fees taken in that court. At the end of the MS. is written, 'Thes notes contayned in this booke I toke owt of a book of the late Bishop of Caunterburey.'
