Shias burying Tazias on the banks of the Jumna, 1908-02

Scope and Contents

Half-plate (landscape format). Agra Pontoon Bridge beyond. In each tazia are two tiny biers covered with flower garlands. It is these that are actually buried, first being handed out carefully under a white cloth: the tazias are afterwards broken up and covered in by the earth thrown into the trench. (Fisher).
