GD. This additional note was written by John Falconer. The Residency, Lucknow. Built by the Nawab after the transfer of the capital of Oudh from Fyzabad to Lucknow in 1775, the Residency was not completed for several decades after the start of construction work in 1780. Largely destroyed during the Mutiny, The Banqueting Hall was used as a hospital during the siege.
