From the Fonds:

The collection includes papers of individuals involved in psychical research, collections of papers relating to specific cases of paranormal activity, papers relating to the administration of the Society and also research and medium files. The collections include correspondence, notes, diagrams, drawings, photographs, newspaper articles and printed pamphlets.

Held on deposit from the Society for Psychical Research since 1990.

Biographical / Historical

Guy Lyon Playfair (5 April 1935 - 8 April 2018) was a prominent parapsychologist and author known best for his involvement in the Enfield Poltergeist investigation along with the ensuing book 'This House is Haunted' (1980). Playfair's research interests and publications cover a wide range of topics from Brazilian folklore, Twin Telepathy, and the influence of technology both psychically and socially. The SPR archive holds his correspondence, research and notes from his varied career, and AV material including slides and negatives.
