Half-plate. Statue of Sir H. G. Ward GCMG. Native Court House just in front of Church, and crowd waiting for cases to come on (Fisher). [Sir Henry George Ward (1797-1860) was Lord High Commissioner to the Ionian Islands, 1849-1855 and Governor of Ceylon 1855-1860. He died of cholera in Madras shortly after taking up the post of Governor].
