Scope and Contents
Outside the first bundle is written, 'Finished for the Press, Oct. 30th 1826, the day at which I had arrived at the sixty eighth year of my age.' Outside the second, 'Ready for the Press. This was again examined and corrected some years after it was written. The examination was finished June 30, 1829.' Outside the third and fourth, 'Ready for the Press.' The later portions are in a very rough state.
