Traditional Menangkau [sic] - style house in Seremban, [Negri Sembilan] [i.e. Negeri Sembilan], 1920 - 1939
Scope and Contents
83 x 61 mm. A view from a hillside looking down on a longhouse raised on stilts, with an atap roof curving up to pointed ends. A smaller second storey rests on top of the main structure. The Menangkabau States were the small territories between Malacca, Pahang, Johore and Selangor whose original inhabitants are supposed to have come from Menangkabau in Sumatra.
