G.C.M.G. presentation to H.H. Tuanku Muhammad at Sri Menanti, 1931, 1931
Scope and Contents
142 x 93 mm. Showing Sir Andrew Caldecott inspecting a guard of honour at Sri Menanti on the occasion of the conferring of the G.C.M.G. on Tuanku Muhammad, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri [i.e. Negeri] Sembilan. The caption on the reverse of the print refers to Caldecott as O.A.G. (Officer Administering the Government) but he does not appear to have undertaken this function until 1934. British Malaya (Sept., 1933, p. 99) in an obituary of Tuanku Muhammad states that the G.C.M.G. (Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George) was conferred by the Governor, Sir Cecil Clementi.
