Scope and Contents

205 x 152 mm. A group photograph of three British adminstrators with their Chinese, Malay and Indian staff gathered round them. The three main figures in the group are: Frederick Joseph WELD (1870-); Malayan Civil Service 1888-1918; acting British Resident , Negri [i.e. Negeri] Sembilan 1903-1905; Ernest Barton MAUNDRELL (1880-1916); Malayan Civil Service 1903-1916. Maundrell was killed by a Sikh policeman while serving as acting Resident, Brunei; Ernest Charteris Holford WOLFF (1875-1946); Malayan Civil Service 1897-1928; Assistant Secretary to Residents of Selangor and negri Sembilan 1903; later Director of Education, Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States 1921-1924 and British Resident, Negri Sembilan 1924-1928.
