The match at Kuala Lumpur was the only game in the four lost by the Australians who were beaten by 39 runs, and came to be known as Hennessys Day. Dr Patrick Hennessy took seven Australian wickets for 42 runs. In all their other games (against Singapore, South Malaya, North Malaya, Dr Rogers's Asiatic XI and an F.M.S. XI) they won with some ease.
