Identified on the reverse of the print are: Sir Laurence Nunns GUILLEMARD (1862-1951); Governor of the Straits Settlements 1919-1927; Sir Iskandar SHAH (circa 1881-1938); Sultan of Perak 1918-1938; (Sir) William PEEL (1875-1945): Chief Secretary to F.M.S. Government 1926-1930; Henry Wagstaffe THOMSON (1874-1941): British President, Selangor 1926-1931; Tuanku MOHAMMED; Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri [i.e. Negeri] Sembilan; Reginald John Byard CLAYTON (1875-1962); acting British Resident, Negri Sembilan; William Sumner GIBSON (1876-1946); Legal Adviser to F.M.S. Government 1922-1933; Charles Shuldham ALEXANDER (b 1877). The British President, Pahang, labelled here merely Daddy has not been identified, since Arthury Furley Worthington was on leave at this date and the acting Resident has not been traced. The Federal Council had been instituted in 1909 and this photograph is of particular interest in that it shows the participants at the last such meeting.
