Malay College, Kuala Kangsar, January, 1922., 1922
Scope and Contents
137 x 80 mm. Showing the colonnaded and porticoed façade of the Malay Residential School at Kuala Kangsar, completed in 1908. The idea of a school, run on the lines of an English public school, was conceived by the Resident General Sir William Treacher and the Federal Inspector of Schools R.D. Wilkinson in 1904. The school was run as an experiment for three years under the headmastership of W. Hargreaves and at the end of that period the High Commissioner sanctioned the building of a school with accommodation for 150 boys.
