Commercial Square [Fullerton Square], 1906
Scope and Contents
214 x 272 mm. A view looking across the crowded square towards the Collyer Quay waterfont, with boats anchored in the harbour beyond. Dominating the square are the buildings of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. The offices were completed in 1892 on the site of A.L. Johnston's building and stood until 1919 when they were demolished to make way for newer premises which were completed in 1925. Commercial Square is more correctly Fullerton Square, Commercial Square being the old name for Raffles Place.
