Science Policy, 1956 - 1966
Scope and Contents
Before the war J.D. Bernal’s work on science policy resulted in articles (MS Add.8287/B/3.34, 45 and 46) and in his book on the Social Function of Science (MS Add.8287/B/1.2). This section deals with the document on the Finance of Fundamental Research in Britain which was circulated privately, and his work in helping to formulate the Labour Party’s policy on science.
