Information of John Brett of Tydd St Giles, concerning a suit between Thomas Tisdale and Philip Gerling relating to the recovery of a sheep, 25 May 1661. [see EDR E4/1/1, entry 38].
Calendar of prisoners at Ely, 4 Sept. 13 Chas II [1661]: John Jues of Ely, cordwainer, for speaking words against his Majesty.
Calendar of prisoners at Wisbech Castle, 1661: William Beard for taking a horse, confessed on examination; Thomas Ruisley on suspicion of breaking open a shop; William Richers and Ellen, his wife, on suspicion of felony; [?Eanstabee Kinder] on suspicion of felony; Richard Browne on suspicion of felony.
Recognizance: Nicholas Taylor of Ely, tailor, and John Gymber of Ely, labourer, to appear at the assizes relating to words of treason spoken by John Jues of Ely. John Stracy of Ely is bound to appear at the next general assizes.
Information of John Gymber taken 30 Jun. 1661 testifying John Jues said he ‘wished nothing but the destruction of the king’ and an examination of Jues who denied these words.
Information of Humphrey Rowland of Stanground, Huntingdonshire, taken 1 Apr. 1661, relating to the theft of a chestnut horse with two white feet and his suspicion of one Beard; examination of William Beard of [Weth Moore], Yorkshire, concerning the taking of several horses.
