Scope and Contents
Comparison of Luard's contents list with the records, now loose papers taken out of their guard book, reveals many inaccuracies. The following list is extensively corrected. Contents:
1. Thanks to Bishop Tunstall for his gift of Greek books 1529, written by Orator Day (original);
2. Acknowledgement of Orator Byng that he has received Aelian's Strategica from the Library, 23 Nov. 1566;
3. Letter of Andrew Perne to Stokes [Matthew Stokys, Registrary] to send him the dimensions of the stalls and a catalogue of the books, hoping to get books for one stall from Archbishop Parker, 8 Feb. 1573/4;
4. Copy on parchment of the Grace of 30 June 1581 concerning the Librarian's fees, signed by Registrary Newton;
