A second copy of the pamphlet; with annotations. The pamphlet was printed in Liverpool and also contains the opinions of several captains in the Navy or merchant's service and of pilots who had made practical trials of the machines, including Joseph Whittle, Captain William Killey, Lieutenant and Commander Philip Brown, Richard Dalton, Egerton Smith, Edward Toner, James Whitehead, Thomas Mullion, Thomas Bennett, John Murphy, W. Cumberland, Captain John Calverhouse, Captain Sam M. Colquintt, John Cummins, Captain J. Cox, C.H. Wilkinson, Captain Pendeleton, C.
