Side B: Sir Francis Graham Smith, Astronomer Royal, talking about the plans and negotiations for the La Palma site. Includes: background on the site testing of La Palma; initial negotiations to test full on La Palma; international agreements on the La Palma Observatory; his approach to the planning and negotiations; the establishment of the Project team at RGO; the decision-making structure; liaison with IAU and the SERC. 15 Dec. 1985.
